Casa Maia is a three bed country house comprising one half of a 688 metre squared farmhouse set in 5 acres of orchards and gardens.

The owners and their 2 children live in one side and have prepared the semi detached house Casa Maia for holiday guests.

The rental home has its own private entrance patio, walled rose garden for sun bathing, a shady chill out veranda with day beds and a vine covered dining terrace with bbq.

Guests have exclusive use of the 11 metre gated swimming pool and garden.

Just a short way from the house in a completely private setting it is surrounded by lawn and flowers, sun beds, sofas, pergola and mini kitchen for comfort, convenience and beauty.

The grassy play area alongside boasts swings, a toddler climbing frame, slide and badminton net.

Encircled by a river and divided by a stream this former walnut and apple farm still abounds with fruit trees. Ranging from quince, plum, fig, peach, pomegranate, almond, apricot, persimmon and to top it all off, the occasional cherry too, all ripe for picking, that is if you can make it before the birds have had their fill.

Try our organic vegetables watered by the irrigation channel you can see flowing over the moorish aqueduct.

This ancient system circumnavigates our property and connects us to fifty farms each with specific watering times during the week.

The farmhouse itself has metre thick stone walls to insulate it against the extremes of temperatures. It has been renovated with the traditional materials of fired earth roof and floor tiles, reclaimed encaustic cement decorative tiles in the kitchen, and travertine, white marble or granite surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom. Painted throughout in the soft olive grays and greens of faded lime wash.

To ensure the fluidity between interior and exterior spaces, every room downstairs opens onto an outside area.

The sitting room incorporates a full size American bar pool table and the dining room seats 14.

Relaxed meals take place at the marble topped table in the fully equipped kitchen.

Spanish reference books, novels DVDs and local information fill bookshelves.

Upstairs there are two double bedrooms a twin bedroom and one bathroom. Floors are carpeted with local sisal and the bathroom has views over the walled rose garden.

Booking Terms
